Is AMP messing with my Analytics

I have spent sometime watching my real-time screen this morning (No I do not have anything else better to do, and yes it is about as much fun as watching paint dry).

What I noticed is that when a user lands on my site through an AMP page, a new session is started (nothing strange yet). When the user then clicks on a link and moves from the cached amp content to the html content hosted on my server, then yet another new session is spawned. Same user, same city, same page(kind of).

If I go back and review the historic stats, the sessions seen in real-time are then reflected in the historic data.

This obviously mess with all the other metrics, such bounce rate, session duration, pages/session etc...

Any idea how one is supposed to reconcile this?
