| how account balance changes?

I just experienced a change in account balance from a bit over a $1,000 to $855.91
This is not the first time for me to see the balance fluctuating and I wonder how this works in Yahoo's prepaid system.
How can I connect the charge on my credit card with how it gets depleted in Yahoo account?
