I just saw the following message in my Yahoo SM Interface:
Content Match: Notification of closure, 31 March 2009
Content Match will close on the 31st March 09. Please opt out of Content Match before 31 March by clicking on the ‘Administration’ tab then ‘Edit’ button next to ‘Tactic Settings’. You need to set ‘Content Match Status’ to OFF and click on the ‘Save Changes’ button.
Apparently Yahoo will be closing all content feeds after March 31st.
I had an email to this effect recently, didn't give it much thought as the Yahoo content network wasn't worth the effort of the click to turn it on. At least this way no-one will get caught out when setting up a new campaign :)
I tried running different reports and comparing data and I found out that your ads will appear on content networks on countries you did not include in your targeting. After I turned off the content network months ago, I got more targeted conversions and avoided the invalid ones coming from the content network.
