I don't think you can do it from the interface. You have to call them up on the phone and request it.

It's little things like this -- and the fact that there are so many little things like this -- which keeps me from using YSM and from recommending it to clients.

You don't have to call them.
log in to your YSM account and on the right top corner click on 'Support Centre'.
Now click on 'Support Request Form' and write "please change my payment type from "Prepaid Non-Stop Plan" to "Prepaid Deposit Plan".
It took them a day or 2 and the issue was fixed.

I agree with pleeker: it's little things like this that discourage us from using Yahoo Overture.
I have been complaining about the interface for years: it is slow, clunky and bug-ridden. It worse than any other major PPC search engine I have tried.
They seem to want to make it as un-user-friendly as possible. Keep on losing money Yahoo!

why cancel the account?
you can just turn it off.
or send them a support request form like described above.
I agree to all your complains but for me YSM is great.
The interface is bad, the service is bad, the site is complicated and slow, but the results are good.
It took me a long time to get use to it and find the right way to use it, and now I get great conversions from YSM.
Conversions is all I care about. The rest is cosmetic.
