cached item in Yahoo - how long to go away

Msg#: 4575930 posted 11:56 pm on May 20, 2013 (gmt 0)

I am not the owner of a website but I asked that they remove a page I had published. They did - it was showing up in Google and Yahoo's cache even though the page was deleted. I was able to request that Google remove the cached file and they did within 24 hours but Yahoo will only allow web site owners to submit this same request. Does anyone know approximately how long it will take before this cached item will disappear from Yahoo's search results? thanks

welcome to WebmasterWorld, danagraphics!

since yahoo search is powered by bing, you can only do this (as the webmaster) using the Bing Content Removal Tool in Bing Webmaster Tools:
http://www.bing.com/webmaster/help/bing-content-removal-tool-cb6c294d [bing.com]

if it's an issue of copyright infringement you can submit a Notice of Infringement:
http://www.microsoft.com/info/FormForSearch.aspx [microsoft.com]

you might get some action from the webmaster if you threaten to file a DMCA take down with the search engines, but make sure you're on solid ground before doing so.
