Hi, looking at my logs I'm seeing some irregular crawling patterns but that is mentioned in the update thread so i hope thats nothing for me to start worrying about. Still not seeing any changes in the areas i normally concentrate on. Vimes.

Keywords are either 1 up or 1 down nothing major for my Widget generics, Widget specific seems to be a bit better for me, but im holding my breath. Usually it takes a few days for yahoo to completely roll something out. Dont be surpised if your keywords jump +10 or -10 positions and then level out somewhere in the middle.

Yahoo! Weather Report: cold, bleak, and dreary with no sun in the near forecast (the usual). ;)

At least in my area that i concentrate on it would appear that Yahoo is improving on its valuation of its links I'm seeing sites that have had 'advertising' on media sites dropping out of the top positions where they have been steady as a rock on the linked term for an age. Vimes. [added] it does appear that less and less people are even worried about Yahoo updates any more, they really need to pull their socks up or suffocate.[/added]

It quite a thing when Yahoo "updates" and nobody notices, nor cares. I guess Yahoo needs to face what everybody knows... they don't have a search engine.

Too many irrelevant dot edu and irrelevant dot govs for anyone to notice a difference in some of the SERPs I check. In other SERPs I see too many irrelevant sites, and I mean offbeat irrelevant, from sites that are related to a specific city or state. It probably makes sense to a machine but some of these SERPs makes no sense for a human and I have to agree they are not useful. The funny thing about this update is that I really don't see a difference from previous SERPs for two word phrases. One word phrases Is it me or does Yahoo do pretty decently with one-word phrases?

A lot of the one word searches are hand sorted.

Right, right. But even beyond gambling, pills etc. the top five and below are way more decent than what's showing on regular two word phrases.

| So true. I didn't even know there was an update until I saw this thread. I don't use Yahoo, nor do I monitor it for "changes".

I can't figure out Yahoo. Like clockwork we drop after each update only to come back stronger in subsequent updates. This is the first major update since we got two links in the Yahoo directory. We dropped 50% - Go figure.

Our Yahoo rankings are constantly moving up and down. Literally every day we can be anywhere from 1 to 40 spots either up or down. It's very frustrating.

I just had a look at the results of a few of the keywords that I monitor and was tempted to ask if there was something wrong technically with Yahoo. Anyway, worst results that I've seen from Yahoo for quite a while. The results look like they have given a boost to "authority sites" and I am now seeing more internal pages from those sites rank well. Previously I was seeing more domain index pages rank highly for the one and two word terms that I keep an eye on.

After scanning my logs, I noticed that for some reason, we only rank well for phrases of 3 or more words, and then we are usually #1. They are REALLY obscure travel references that don't really convert in to sales. All of the kw's that we do very well for in Google are around the 20th or 30th position. Wish I knew how to fix that...
