Google's share of the market rose to 65.1% from 61.84% in the same month a year ago, Hitwise said. In October, Google had a 64.49% share.
Yahoo Search was a distant second last month with 21.21% of searches, followed by Microsoft's MSN Search, 7.09%; and Ask.com, 4.63%. The remaining 46 search engines in the Hitwise rankings accounted for 1.96% of searches.
Yahoo, Microsoft and Ask.com dipped in market share from October, according to Hitwise. Compared to a year ago, Yahoo was down 1.22%, and Microsoft 2.73%. Ask.com's share increased 0.4 %.
The Yahoo faithful haven't given up... slighlty surprising. I guess when you don't know any better you stay.
That's true...I think the only thing Yahoo users hang on is really because of their messenger, not wanting to change Yahoo e-mail, like you said, they just don't know any better. Yahoo's search results are horrible. I try a search on them every once in a while for different stuff for a good, hearty laugh. MSN is going through its spells, better one day, next poor...but, they are making far better strides than Yahoo and that's putting it nice.
