I just tried a couple of searches and got three different results! Perhaps it's a datacenter thing?
Perhaps one or other is more localized (I'm in the UK).
Perhaps I'm clutching at straws ... :)

Hmm, all 3 are showing different results here in Canada to. On a side note.. is showing Stumble Upon reviews new in Yahoo SERP? Maybe showing because I have the bar installed right now? Never noticed that in the SERP before but I like it :) Edit:
Yup, it's because I have the toolbar, doesn't show on a clean profile or in IE. Kind of wish it was by default, my sites seem to be getting many good reviews :) [edited by: LunaC at 1:27 pm (utc) on Nov. 28, 2006]

I see that too. I also rank better on those two search engines... Does Yahoo preview a new algo on Altavista before rolling it out to Yahoo? (I'm hoping here...)

I just checked Alltheweb and Altavista and can confirm they are showing different results than Yahoo. Yahoo is due for an update so maybe they are starting to roll it out. If someone from Yahoo could comment on this, it would be great. [edited by: engine at 5:31 pm (utc) on Nov. 28, 2006]

This has been going on for a while - actually they show the same results as CNN, and CNN has been showing results different from Yahoo for about 2 weeks now - we used to use CNN to check our Yahoo ranking... Yahoo also seems to have 3 DCs going on, but very different from Alltheweb etc.

maybe, just maybe Yahoo are going to off load the two. need different results if you are going to sell them off.

now that yahoo is in an update, can anyone confirm that altavista has been showing the new yahoo results for the past two weeks?
