According to a report in The Post, Verizon is pushing for a $1 billion discount on the $4.3 billion Yahoo deal [webmasterworld.com] it struck over the acquisition.

The report suggests it's because Verizon is concerned over the uncomfortable reading that's been out there recently. Including the Yahoo Data Breach of 500 million accounts [webmasterworld.com] and the report of customer scanning of e-mails. [webmasterworld.com]

Verizon is pushing for a $1 billion discount off its pending $4.8 billion agreement to buy Yahoo, several sources told The Post exclusively. Report: Verizon Wants $1 billion Discount on Yahoo Deal [nypost.com]
“In the last day we’ve heard that [AOL boss] Tim [Armstong] is getting cold feet. He’s pretty upset about the lack of disclosure and he’s saying, ‘Can we get out of this or can we reduce the price?’” said a source familiar with Verizon’s thinking.
