Hi jasonmark238,

ECMA Script is the more formal name for what we usually call "JavaScript".

Or, more precisely, ECMAScript is the generic language specification of which JavaScript is one example. JavaScript is the Netscape-derived implementation of ECMA used for client-side scripting in web browsers, while JScript is the same for old Microsoft browsers, and ActionScript is ECMA for Adobe Flash. All three are implementations of ECMA Script, a language characterized by object constructors, static typing, and prototype inheritance.

Specific questions about using ECMA Script can be addressed to the JavaScript and AJAX Forum [webmasterworld.com]

For a more thorough history of ECMA, there's a decent article about it on wikipedia, and plenty more if you search around the interwebs.
