How to add canonicalise globally?

I have a Wordpress installation that has about 1000 posts and I need to create a 'copy' of the posts on to a new domain (I won't go into why here).

The new domain has a slightly different folder path but the posts are the same number etc... as the posts have been exported and imported....

There 'may be' a penalty on the old domain so I don't wish to add a 301 redirect.

I don't want to have a duplicate penalty problem so think that adding a canonicalise to each post on the old website pointing to the new one would resolve this... BUT.. how can this be done either globally or adding one at a time? ie.. How and where?

The old domain has 'All In One seo' which creates canonical for each post... I will likely have to turn off this plugin..

Will the visitors to the old site be able to easily find the new site? If they can't they'll never see any of the new posts that you add going forwards...
