A bit of clarification would help. Where do you want to ads to display? In the sidebar with the newsletter signup or in the email newsletter that you send out? Or ?

What I am hoping is to be able to select the banner ads that run on the site and insert them into the newsletter.
ie. the subscribers get the latest news and some ads.
I found one product that looked promising. Their site says that the newsletter will 'integrate banner ads'. However, when I looked at their online demo I didn't see this capability.

I'm not familiar with any that would tie the two functions together. Have you tried contacting the author of the one you found?

Lorax - I'lll let you know tomorrow. Their live support is 9-5 but it is GMS-2 which means something like 2 am-10 am eastern US time.. I'm up late anyway so I'll contact them before I turn in.
As I understand it, they offer a banner manager for the site which will integrate into the newsletter creator.

I heard WPMU DEV launched a newsletter plugin in the past month, might not be the option you need but it's new so it's possible it fell outside normal forum chatter/knowledge.

I checked with the plugin authors last night. Supposedly is uses short codes to tie the banner ad plugin to the Newsletter plugin.
There is a seven day trial. I'm tied up for the weekend so we'll start the seven day trial probably on monday.
It looks like it might work..
