Wordpress TinyMCE strips code in visual editor

We're having a large content site migrated into Wordpress and using TinyMCE Advanced.

Everything is fine on import BUT once the content is updated (which it will be regularly) TinyMCE strips the html code.

There is far too much content that needs regular editorial updates to use the HTML editor as we are editors not coders.

Is there a workaround or a way to troubleshoot TinyMCE not stripping code with Visual Editor updating?

Is there another robust Wordpress WYSIWYG editor that won't strip the code away on updates?

Thank you!

Autoformatting (wpautop) is one of the best (and worst) features of Wordpress.

There are several plugins that attempt to preserve your html...one is called "WP-No-Format." Can't remember the others.

None of the ones I've tried work very well though.
