Has anyone figured out yet how to BACKUP & RESTORE the Windows 7 INDEX? I read everywhere people struggling with indexes clearing and starting back at zero (which can take days to rebuild). This can happen with reg cleaners or defraggers apparently.

As you may or may not know, here's the locations:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\Windows\Windows.edb

and this seems to be the approximate location within the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Search\Indexer

Within the particular Windows (bolded above) folder, besides windows.edb, there are many other files. I don't want to touch them obviously, so would love to find out which file or files is "the one/s" to BACKUP....and then, if there's ever a clear back to zero, if we can just do a RESTORE by replacing those particular files.

Thanks for your help. I think it's something everyone can benefit from. Kind regards.
