| Cloud Hosting? Good idea or no?

Have a client that is interested in cloud hosting - seems like a fancy name for shared virtual hosting to me. Also wondering how secure my data would be and how flexible woudl I be to write custom code?
Opinions? Any drawbacks/advantages to a traditional dedicated server?
FYI been a poster here for ages - can't remember old pass or email, sorry!

I think he realized the product they wanted to develop was black hat / spammy, called them out on it and lost the contract. Well, geeky, congrats for having a soul...
