msg:4242201 | 10:47 am on Dec 14, 2010 (gmt 0) | my local ftp sync software is telling me that the remote server does not support a hash request for a file compare with the local copy. I have asked the host if this can be enabled and they dont seem to actually know. To cut to the chase on redhat/apache running pure-ftpd 1.0.29 ftp server does anyone know exactly what this is and how/if the server can be enabled for it? Thanks.

(FTP is fundamentally insecure, you are transmitting your password in plain-text over the wire, any decent solution will include disabling FTPD.)
