| Checking Reverse DNS - PTR record

Hi, I am using the php mail function and emails are being blocked to hotmail accounts. I have tried various methods/headers so I'm now convinced the problem is something to do with Reverse DNS or PTR record. This is based on other posts on this subject. I know nothing about either of these things. Can anyone suggest how I could check these out, and what to look out for which might be causing a problem? Thanks

Well my PHP mail is working from my website now, and hotmail is receiving the messages. Previously I hadn't set a password on my domain email address, or configured outlook. After I did that it started working.
