Okay, this might sound very weird to most people. But I have been searching for well a while. I am currently looking for software that is kinda like a few sites that I tend to chat in.

One of my questions is what software or even what language their code is within so that I can would be able to use it for my own site.

Any help would be appreciated muchly.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld Cschmidt.

Are these chat applications that you download or do they work in-line on the websites?

They should work in line with the websites, most of the sites that I frequent are online, and it seems that they use Javascript, Perl, Php and CGI along with html webpages. The chat look likes it is framed in the browser, with a pulldown list of actions, the text box that you type in , a list of people in the room in a pulldown list so that you can speak to just one person, if you wanted.. then your send button, and other stuff that, and the other frame is where what you type appears in . One , I know there is software out for what I'm speaking about but too, alot of it is outdated and those that buy the software that others have written usually have to write what they need, so I'm trying to circumvent the whole thing by trying to figure it out.

Have you looked into Java based chats? That's currently what I use, no problems at all.

I've looked into Java based chat, not what I want. What I'm looking for is along the lines of IFCS, if that helps. And if you need to know what those initials stand for just go ahead and pm me away.
