Hi,

Sorry if I post in the wrong group. Does anyone know a good custom search engine available in the market?

Currently, I am using google custom but I do not like it because it include ads along with the search result. I know I can pay US$100 a year to join google business account, but I want to look for something 'FREE' not pay.

Does anyone know where can I get a good and Free custom search engine in the market?

Thanks

go to search tools .com. Avi has about a thousand list. If that doesn't work - hit the script archives. There are hundreds of search engines out there.

do you have any special requirements or preferences?
language? character set?
phrase queries? wildcarding?
what server platform?

Hi,

I do not have any specific requirement. Currently the google custom search engine serve me well, but they are not so flexible and include ads.

I am currently running my own directory, so I want to have a search engine at my homepage for my user to search either my directory database or index my link partner websites directly. Currently the google custom engine can include sites to search, so is still not so bad but they are not indexing the content, I believed.

I came across a custom search engine called "zoom search engine", does anyone use them before? Are they any good?

They have a paid version that doesn't show ads and is quite flexible.
