| Separated web server and mail server

Greetings, I'm trying to separate my web server(VPS) and my mail server. I have already replicated the mail accounts on the new server(via Cpanel), and I THINK all it's left to do is to go to my VPS and on the domain information interfase update the mail.mydomain.com, pop.mydomain.com, smtp.mydomain.com A records using the new server's IP and updating the MX record using the new server's IP. Am I missing something here? Thanks in advance!

Sounds good. Also, if you are using a scripting language like PHP, you may have to edit the php.ini file for SMTP settings.

Thanks for the reply! I had some "can't use IP" errors when receiving mails(not that I got the error messages, but people trying to mail me) so I have replaced the A records with CNAMEs using the mail server's domain DNS. I will update this topic with more issues or a success note later ;)
