Hi,

After many days of research in the Internet, I am not able to find out the architecture of a web radio architecture. Actually, I want to make a "LIVE INTERNET RADIO" like BBC Radio [bbc.co.uk...] for instance. When Internaute arrives at my site, he clicks and listens to my radion in live 24H/24

For that I am looking to understand :

1 How to convert my radio signal comming from my radio studio and put it as digital signal understood by my computer located in the radio building.
2 How to send this digital signal to another site where streaming server is located via Internet connection?
3 How to Encode that output signal with streaming server located in my web hosting building?
4 How to Brodcast this enoded signal into my website and Internaut can listen in live?

Furthermore, I am looking, for each stage, recommandations of free/purchasing product that I can use for achieve my wants.

Finally, if they are any feedback/suggestion to optimise this architecture.I am looking for.

I hope I was not boring by my questions.

Thanks in advance for all feebacks.

A friend of mine wanted to start a web radio station a few years ago. Before he defined his architecture he first looked around what he had to pay to play music on his station. Even with a maximum listener number of 20 people, the costs were thousands per month, so needless to say, he stopped the project.

So unless you are planning to make a web radio service where all content is created by yourself, be prepared to receive huge bills for broadcasting music.

Thanks for your reply,

In advance, we are so prepared for that.
However, my question was focused about technical architecture.

I am so waiting for your lots of replays.

Thans in advance.
