Tools for communicating with website visitors? contentmaster msg:3301037 2:35 pm on Apr 3, 2007 (gmt 0) Are there any simple free tools that can be installed on a website - allowing the webmaster to chat with visitors who come the website in real time?

Try Live Chat at www.providesupport.com
you can invite web visitors for live chat, or visitors can request a live chat session. Not a free service, but at very reasonable price though. And you can see where your visitors are located at geographically, and which pages they are browsing right from your console.

I also use one by xigla.com called Absolute Live Support which I really like.
There are many, though I don't know of a free one anywhere.

Take a look at Help Center Live (website at the obvious dotCom).
It's a free live help program written in php and distributed under the GNU general public license.
I'm currently testing it on a few sites, and thus far I don't have any complaints.
