Any one heard of a linix distro that would let me run it from a jump drive (removable usb drive 250 MB)?

Failing that could I run Open Office from a Jump Drive?

i use DSL(Damn Small Linux), which is based on the Knoppix distribution..

[damnsmalllinux.org...]

it's about 50Mb and allows you to either boot Linux in a virtual environment from within Windows, or boot directly from the usb key/thumb drive

in addition, i recommend using True Crypt (http://www.truecrypt.org/) and make a portion of your USB key into a secure partition. True Crypt also has the ability to automatically load the drivers when you insert the USB key so that you can moutn your secure partitions from any computer :-)

for additional software for your USB key, check portableapps.com
