I've been a member here for quite a while and a reader even longer... but I came across a post that was orange/tan/yellow-coloured and I was wondering what this meant. The colouring looks similar to the supporters' thread highlights.

I tried searching for it with Google, but got some pretty irrelevant results. Here's a snap: [tinypic.com...]

You can achieve it yourself by adding the query

?highlight=msg{postnumber}

to the URL. Even works in thread-initial posts and your own posts, if you want to be doubly colorful. I discovered it by accident. Like this:

[webmasterworld.com...]

When it doesn't work it means you have made the same mistake I chronically make: & in place of ? Oops.

It makes the post look dirty. Light blue — perhaps #D8E2F3 or something similar — might look lots better.
