WebmasterWorld.com Acquired by Internet Marketing Ninjas

 4:15 pm on Oct 17, 2012 (gmt 0)

I am excited and pleased to announce that WebmasterWorld.com has been acquired by Internet Marketing Ninjas. What's it mean:

- I will remain on as an Administrator indefinitely.
- Neil Marshall will remain on as lead site administrator indefinitely.
- Our - now former - legal owner "Webmasterworld Inc." has changed names to Pubcon Inc.
- This does not effect the Pubcon conference series. I will remain CEO of Pubcon Inc. and will continue to thrive.
- Good things on the horizon from IMN (aka: Jim Boykin and formerly We Build Pages.
- Moderators and admins, can now edit me without fear ;-) lol

I think this is an outstanding fit for Webmasteworld. IMN brings resources to WebmasterWorld that will help keep the community strong for many years to come. Anyone who knows Jim Boykin (Founder IMN) knows, that he values this community as much as I do. I expect good things out of IMN to come.

Thank you so much for your support of the site. I would ask that you continue to do so onward into an exciting future.

There will be a press release put out earlier today.

Brett Tabke
Founder Webmasterworld

I've always wanted to be a Ninja! Congrats to all involved.

Having been part of Webmasterworld since 2002, I am really excited about this acquisition. I met Brett and most of the original team of moderators ten years ago this week. What a privilege! This community became my family and every significant thing I've learned about webmastering, seo, sem, internet marketing, usability and social media originated from the Webmasterworld community.

I am delighted that Jim Boykin is the new owner of the Webmasterworld community. He is a long-time member of the forums and he has been attending Pubcon for years. Many people here at Webmasterworld know him; many have sent business his way because his work at Internet Marketing Ninjas speaks for itself. And I've gotten to know him and I think he's a pretty nice guy. I think he's going to take great care of this community - you really couldn't ask for a better guy to take the reins.

I look forward to watching all of the amazing things he's going to do with and for this community.

(oh, come on, I only fixed a little typo in Brett's post ... cut the wife a break!) hehe

Congratulations Brett, seems like a great move for all involved. It must have been hard to let this place go!

 5:50 pm on Oct 17, 2012 (gmt 0)

Wow, what a busy day, and I just got time to log on here.

Congratulations Brett! The community owes you a great deal.

Congratulations Jim! I'm looking forward to the next 10 years of WebmasterWorld!

I got the email and had to think about whether it was April Fools Day.

The hall went eerily quiet when Brett said he'd agreed a sale. I saw nods of approval when he said it was jimsthoughts - the one obvious choice to take care of a great community. Congratulations, both!

Wow. I'm a WebmasterWorld lurker and most of the time when I post, it a question on regex and related stuff.

But I have to come out of lurking mode. Lots of great things happening at IMN.

Congrats Jim.

Thank you everyone for your support. I give my word that I will try to do what is best, with the help and advice and guidance from the community, for the community that I respect so much.

Congratulations Jim and Brett!

Wow, this is really some news. Congratulations to both Brett and Jim.

Though I 'retired' from active posting on the AdWords forum nearly two years ago due to other responsibilities, I wanted to return briefly to offer huge kudos to Brett for having created, nourished and grown such an enduring and important community over the course of many, many years.

Well done, Brett. Very well done.

All the best,

Big news... never thought I see the day. But congrats on the deal.

Wow, congrats to Brett and Jim.

(Looks like I need to check these IMN guys out. They sound like they have their game on :-)

Looking forward to seeing the community grow from the fantastic base it currently has after 10 years in the custody of Mr Tabke.

Brett & Jim Congratulations. Some surely exciting news here! Oh and a greatful thank you to Tedster and great great thanks to Martinibuster, PageOneResults, Brinked, and all the other major contributors in the SEO forums (not just the Google SEO forum) I am passioned with for about 9-10 years now.

Thank you for the invaluable information, help and your contributions guys. Hope for even better things to come!

EDIT: Wish I had more time to participate here. Have the forums on my RSS aggregator and constantly follow what is being posted.

 8:34 pm on Oct 17, 2012 (gmt 0)

Cool, congratulations. Hopefully IMN will build on the good thing going here. They can start with adding a few useful posting tools to the forum :D

 8:43 pm on Oct 17, 2012 (gmt 0)

Amazing, Jim is one of the few I would call "the right choice" to keep the community alive. He actually helped me a few times since I joined and he is always a great guy to talk to on Pubcon. VERY NICE!

Thanks Brett for putting up with that community stuff for so long and making this a good place to hang out!

 8:49 pm on Oct 17, 2012 (gmt 0)

Congratulations to all the WebmasterWorld team this is a good for everybody. Brett and his wife can now sit back a little and maybe take a couple days off and look back on the last 13+ years.
BTW hair color does wonders:)

I was not expecting this and hope it works out for all involved.

 9:08 pm on Oct 17, 2012 (gmt 0)

Since putting up a blank post is impossible and might not get the point across, let me just say I am at a loss for words.

 10:31 pm on Oct 17, 2012 (gmt 0)

These will forever be my old stomping grounds... so happy that if you had to sell it Brett, you sold it to someone like Jim, who values this community, its members, its traditions and its history as much as the rest of us that have been here for almost a decade or more. Cheers to you both!

 10:43 pm on Oct 17, 2012 (gmt 0)

Congratulations Brett and Jim!

 10:45 pm on Oct 17, 2012 (gmt 0)

Wow - stunned - hopefully Jim will keep up the community and keep its character. I've heard his name a lot over the years but I'm not sure we've actually met.

Congrats Brett and best wishes for the future for you and Erika.

Glad that Neil will remain as a part of the senior staff too.
