I'm not even in the country, so we won't be meeting anytime soon. But the IM in NY has a good name, they seem to have some pretty big charity meetups and lots of big names attend.

We generally don't allow WebmasterWorld to be used to organize meetups as in the past, we have discovered unauthorized groups using WebmasterWorld members purely to make a sales pitch. I'm certainly not inferring that you are discussing this for those sorts of reasons, but because of that bad experience we have a policy to discourage these sorts of threads. Sorry.

Woo! I'm excited about PubCon. PubCon is the best place in the world to meet up with friends and peers. It doesn't have the local aspect that you're looking for, but such a large number of people will be there that you will be able to hook up with the exact kind of people you want to talk to.

Central NJ here too (Somerville). It would be nice run into some folks locally. Morristown area has a lot of folks with seo oriented websites I follow too. Let me know if any real synergy gets going!
Wife and I tried a local PC group, found out quickly we knew way more than the folks running it. Turned out to be an in person level one help desk. We ran away screaming after trying to help the 'intelligence challenged' do the most basic of tasks on a PC.
