Hello all: I have been around webmasterworld for the last 11 years or so. My dad, DaveatIFG - former moderator - passed away sadly in July 2006. I am the graphic designer / basic webmaster in the family. He was definitely the SEO guy. Since his passing my life focused less on my business and more on raising my children - boys, now 4 and 7. It has been almost 4 years since he passed away and I am getting back into my business and familiarizing myself with the SEO stuff because it is becoming a necessity. I started my own online store. And, I really need to dive in and work on my dad's site. www.ifg-inc.com. I have ignored it since his passing. Can you believe that I still get monthly revenue checks - almost 4 years later - because of the Google ads that are still on his site? haha. I know a few people around here. Liane and Mack have been helpful to me over the years, and a few others too. So I guess the saying is true? Like Father, Like Daughter? Lets hope! Looking forward to reading, reading and then reading some more!

Welcome! The old timers here have such fond memories of Dave. It's so nice to see you here. I know Liane has said she owes her business to your father's generosity.

You were trying to post in The Wall or the Community Center perhaps?

Hi! I was trying to post in the "introduce yourself" category. haha. I will get it. Like riding a bike right? Does not look too different around here...

Welcome, england921. Dave was wonderfully kind, and I've saved several of his messages and stickies from over the years. I'm glad that you're here and that you've reminded us of him.

I'm also looking forward to your posts.

I've said before and I will say again. Dave had an immense impact on not only this site, but the industry in general. I think its fare to say that all long term members here gained something from your dads presence.

Good to hear from you again, I hope your branch into ecommerce is going well :)

Mack.

of course I can, it was done right :D

yeah, your Dad is still missed, he always glowed when he mentioned you, imagine getting that impression from someone's typing, odd, anyway, glad the kids let you get back to some work. ;)

Thanks guys for all your welcoming comments! Lots of work ahead of me but all good. Now I can understand why my dad spent so much time on the computer... so much to learn and keep up with!
