| Is a rental car needed for PubCon Austin

Not having been to Austin before, I am wondering if I need a rental car to get from the airport to the hotel and back. In some cities the cabs are much cheaper, in others renting a car is the best. Anyone have advice?

cab... about $25-30 from airport. Car will cost you that much for a day.
