My Conference Hell - Hit By A Car
Without exaggerating,... The worst 4 days of my life

I hope someone can help me... My apologies if I have posted this into the wrong place. If I have, I'd be grateful if a moderator could assist in its re-location.

I have previously written to Brett Tabke, but haven't received a response... I'm not sure if he was the correct contact, hence my post here.

OK, here's my PubCon story...

Vegas '08 was my first PubCon (I certainly won't forget it!), I signed-up for the full conference pass. Unfortunately, on the Monday evening prior to the event starting, I was knocked down by a hit & run driver who jumped a red light at a crosswalk by Ceasar's Palace. This resulted in me having to be taken to ER with a shattered elbow.

For some reason, the orthopedic hospital in Vegas couldn't schedule the surgery necessary to put my arm back together until the weekend. So, after 2 days of sorting flights, waiting (and pain!), I flew back to the UK and went straight into the operating theatre.

I now have to wait to see how successful the surgery has been. It's still early days... The stitches came out last week, but I still have very little movement in the joint. Oh, and just to make matters worse, it's my right arm and I'm right handed!

So, that's my PubCon story!

I've been trying to find out if there is any way I can obtain lecture notes from the event. I did manage to get to the conference centre on the way back from the hospital on Tuesday afternoon. I spoke to someone on the registration desk and explained my issue and was promised someone would contact me, but I've not heard anything.

Are notes available? If so, does anyone know how to get hold of them?

Many thanks,
Jon

Bummer to hear of your probs. Someone will be in touch from PubCon. I am about to wednesday of the conference in my email. we get a snow storm of e's during and especially after the conference.

No, we do not keep any "notes" from the sessions. Best bet is to read some of the live blogging done like seoroundtable and the like.
