webmasterworld.com block Chinese visitors?
I can not access from China

 1:03 am on Sep 4, 2007 (gmt 0)

I back to China last Saturday, I tried to access here, I always got an 403 Forbidden or Apache test page. I thought here was down, but actually it wasn't By remote control a server in America, I am still able to access this forum.

What does it means?
1. Webmasterworld block visitors from China by itself?
2. Chinese government block Webmasterworld.com

Perhaps it was this [webmasterworld.com] front page thread which did it?

I got that when I was in Indonesia. I thought the site was down for ages but was confused as nothing had been reported anywhere else about ww?

What's the story with Asia and this site?

It could be an isp with a specific proxy that has hammered us in the past. I know we have so few .cn visitors, that when one tries tos pider us, we usually block the B block.

Ok, I am back online now. You actually block the biggest ISP in China.

I arranged multiple internet connections at my office now, I can switch between those gateways. If you block 1 or 2 of them, I will always still be possible to access here.

the spider can be from a Chinese search engine, or they tried to scrap data from WebmasterWorld?
