Hello WebmasterWorld

I am bit of a newbie round here, so please bear with me.

Can you please explain the Yahoo forums section aka Yahoo World, leaving aside Yahoo Search and the old altavisa etc forum leaves 2 forums:

Yahoo Publisher Advertising Network (adsense stylee)
Yahoo Search Marketing (Overture/YSM, PPC stylee)

In which case can someone explain to me if WebmasterWorld can make up their mind which forum should be used for discussion by advertisers of the new panama system

as it seems to me that there is some confusion, or maybe I am confused as I am seeing simultaneous Panama conversations in both forums, when the 2 (imo) have very different target audiences and noise levels.

I'd appreciate if you could look into this matter for me, pretty please with sugar on top.

Thanks again, and now I am gonna run along, and ask why You charge money for the subscription forum, why my site got banned, is GoogleGuy really from Google, and why the last couple of Pubcons were not held in a Pub.

lol. It's that old sly, wry, and dry british humor again. lol

> I am bit of a newbie

ya, it takes 5k posts to get out of the new user category. (grin)

> yahoo search vs ypn, vs ysm

Google has Adwords, Adsense, and google search. Yahoo, has Yahoo Search Marketing, Yahoo Publisher Network, and Yahoo Search. Same break down of topics for both Yahoo and Google.

As an ex senior moderator, you know how hard it is to keep the dupe topics for popping up. That, and I think everyone themselves is a bit confused as to what Yahoo is trying to do with the different names.

seems like my post was a bit misintepreted.

the rest is all tongue n cheek

I was too subtle?

Forum topic break down:
Yahoo Search - deals with search engine topics.
Yahoo Publisher Network (YPN) - deals with the contextual advertising and advertising network.
Yahoo Search Marketing - deals with the ppc/overture advertising issues.

So there really aren't any dupe topics. The panama q's in the YPN forum are about Panamas affect on the contextual product.

Agreed. Panama can have dual effects. The first and most noticeable will be on advertisers utilizing YSM. The trickle down effect may also be seen for YPN publishers in regards to the pool of advertisers, what they pay for clicks and the like. YPN noted [ypnblog.com] that it should have an effect on publishers over time. So, if you're an advertiser wishing to discuss Panama from an advertiser perspective, you'd hit YSM. If you're a publisher wishing to discuss the effects of Panama on your YPN earnings, you'd use the YPN forum. I'll be doing my best to move any Panama threads in YPN not directly related to publishers of the YPN program to the YSM forum. :-)
