|Intel Quad Core Xeon 3450 2.66GHz vs i3 Dual Core - 3.06Ghz|
Quad Core Xeon 3450 - 2.66GHz(Lynnfield) vs Intel i3 - Dual Core - 3.06Ghz
Hi, I have old server - Server: Single Processor Quad Core Xeon 3450 - 2.66GHz(Lynnfield)-1 x 8MB cache w/HT
Ram: 4 GB DDR3 Registered 1333
Operating System: CentOS 5 (64 bit),
I would like to go for New Server Intel i3 - Dual Core - 3.06Ghz H/T, RAM 4GB DDR3, CentOS - 64 bits
I Need Suggestion from you peoples is this the correct option, My site using WP, Daily 40K visitors and 150,000 pageviews.
sounds like you are getting a downgrade not an upgrade.
Stick with the xeon.
Yup, I'd stick with the quad core all the way with those specs. I'm running a dual quad core machine myself and it's very nice :)
If there's a big price difference and you're just cutting costs the spec on the dual core isn't bad, but 40K visitors/day should have dual quads IMO just to remain snappy.
That old server shouldn't even breath hard with that load. At best you should look at more RAM, you appear to have enough CPU power.
Hi Guys, Thanks for the suggestions. I've to do Cost-cut and meet with similar server performance.
instead of Intel i3 - Dual Core - 3.06Ghz H/T can i go with Core 2 Quad 2.66GHz ?
so what you are saying is you HAVE to downgrade to cut your bill?
core 2 quad over the i3.
