msg:3030744 | 9:43 pm on Aug 1, 2006 (gmt 0) | Hello, Could someone please tell me if the W-9 form needs to be supplied in every case or only after the threshold of $600 is met? I've tested a company, did not like the results, made $50 and canceled the service. Now they want W-9 before they send me the check but I do not like to fill out unnecessary forms with my SSN...:) Thanks much!

Chances are you won't get paid until you provide them with the w-9, because they want to be able to write off against their earnings. Good luck, and when in doubt, ask your accountant or lawyer.
