| Bizarre requests for near-correct spellings of URLs

So, I have a page on my site, let's call it 21-teddy-bears.html
I was sifting through my 404s today (as all conscientious website owners should do occasionally) and found the following URL requests:
2I-teddy-bears.html
21/teddy-bears.html
21-tedy-bears.html
and on and on, each one differing from the actual URL by just one character. And it was on other pages too, not just that one.

was there a pattern to the requesting IPs, referrers or user agents?
