Moving images to a subdomain

5+ Year Member

Msg#: 4418727 posted 11:41 am on Feb 17, 2012 (gmt 0)

All images of my website are located in: [mydomain...] directory.

Now I want to move all images to: [static.mydomain.com...]

How do I tell to the search engines that all images are moved to a subdomain?

assuming you are on apache i would suggest using mod_rewrite:
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/current/mod/mod_rewrite.html [httpd.apache.org]

there are many examples of how to do this in the Apache Web Server forum:
