Hello -

My site is 10 month old and I haven't done any seo or anything, just built some links with other similar websites. I get around 4-500 uniques per day but would like to build on this.

Is there an SEO checklist I can go through each day?

Should I blog about my site?

I have a wordpress blog residing in a folder beneath my site root, should i blog every day on this using affiliate content?

What other things can I do on a daily basis to drive traffic up?

Im really struggling and would appreciate any help you guys could give.

I am not even ranking for my main keyword, how would i start a keyword campaign?

You need to first check if Google is crawling your site on regular basis. You should setup a webmaster tool account and submit your sitemap for faster indexing and to know of any issues that Google might report.

Unless his site has problems, it should be fully indexed as a 10 month old site (this is worth checking though with GWT). Sitemaps do not inform you of issues that Google might report either (I guess that's just your phrasing and you meant GWT). He could set up a sitemap but I can't see it bringing any real world results unless his site currently has serious technical problems.

@paulie123 Your suggestion to blog about your site would likely be a more effective tactic to generate traffic. Guest blogging is usually a good tactic as well as blogging on your own site.

Make sure all your page titles are unique and keyword orientated and that you have a reasonable amount of unique, topical text content on each page you want to rank. These are the real basics that need to be got right.

Edit: Do you know how competitive your main keyword is? It may be unrealistic to hope to rank for it depending on levels, in which case I would do research into longer tail terms and build content for these.
