building and hosting website for free

Hello

I would like to ask you a question regarding domain names. It turns out that I saw some sites which offer websites building and hosting services for free. The offer some tools to build your own website for free. After that, your website can be hosted by them under a domain name which might include not only your desired domain name but also their comercial name as part of the whole domain addressing these websites. I guess they might be providing these free services with the idea of drawing visits and eventually advertising campaigns.

That is why I wonder whether it is undesirable for a small business IN THERMS OF QUALITY AND SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION to build and host these websites using these cheap services mentioned above or it does not really make much of a difference to ask for a professional to build it and host it in a typical hosting site under a classical domain name like www.domainnamex.com

It might seem to me that a non standard domain like www.#*$!xx.yourdomainnamex.com
might just be less standard but in the end it might serve the same purposes as one more standard like www.yourdomainnamex.com That is to say, it might be useful as well to get small businesses known around the internet.

Any idea? What do you suggest? What do you recommend?

Any advice is really appreciated.

I have used both a subdomain with an ISP and my own domain name and found no difference in SEO for key phrases but it is a very specialist niche with not too much competition. The main authority site on the subject uses an ISP account rather than its own domain name without any obvious problem.

For a business you are going to loose type in traffic and credibility and those are worth more than the tiny cost of a domain name.

First question:
"loose type in traffic"? why should it loose traffic?
Second question:
Do you know any site which provides free tools for building websites easily and really quickly without any knowledge at all about building websites? I mean, the kind of site I mentioned in my first post. They should let me place the corresponding website under a standard domain name though to prevent the website from loosing traffic and credibility as you told me.
Thanks

if your business is called "example" then people can rememer www.example.com better than www.example.someisp.com also using a sub domain like that just looks unprofessional.

Do you know any site which provides free tools for building websites easily and really quickly without any knowledge at all about building websites?

Never Never Never lock yourself in to somebody's on-line site building tool. There are enough free standing WYSIWYG tools available including some perfectly good free ones.
