If possible, I'd like a fairly simple description of the difference between a DNS server being set in Forwarding mode and one that is set in Delegation mode.

I had a problem where users were getting DNS errors when trying to browse an Intranet site from another Intranet. The IT people cured it by resetting the site's DNS server from Forwarding to Delegation and I wondered what it meant.
