you probably have some external files in your document still referring to the old domain. for example, have you checked all the href attribute values of your img and link tags? use a tool such as the "Live HTTP headers" add-on for firefox to tell you what resources are being requested for those pages.

I modified my board index to show the topics I want to show. could that be the problem. I am new to smf and I dont have any experience. pls any help from you would be highly appreciated

you are going to have to look in the source code of the page that is generated by the forum software and check the values of the "src=" and "href=" attributes throughout the code. OR use a tool that will display your HTTP requests on the fly as i suggested previously.
