I am seeing if anyone has any information about IDX (Internet Data Xchange) for MLS (Multiple Listing Service). Its a realty service that is used that logs all the house listings for a broker/agent.

I am doing a realty website and I might get lucky and someone knows what I am talking about. I just want to know how it works and is there a source code for it.. website integration is where I am getting at.

Thanks
CW

It depends on the IDX. Unfortunately there is no standard format for IDX, it goes by region and who is provider.

They've gotten better on standards with RETS but it's not widespread yet from my knowledge.

And that's about all I know.

Thanks for that. Its one of those that you might not get a lot of information about. I am still waiting on my client to provide me with the details on what the source code will look like. From doing a little research it appears that I might be limited on styling this thing up. That has me worried a bit.. but we shall see.

Thanks for the insight though.

It sounds like you are doing templating moreso than coding? If you're doing coding also, at least from the minor bits I've dealt with it should be very flexible.

You get data as a CSV file, dump it into DB. Then can show it from there. While staying within rules of MLS agreement.
