Quantcast: horrible data for one of the sites. it shows 3K/day when I know the site has anywhere between 40-80K/day on the other hand it shows better results than compete for one of the other websites I know of. I guess you cant really rely on any of those mentioned sites.

No, you can't, but that's a given. Just take them as a group of datapoints that give you a slightly better guess than a magic 8-ball as to what ballpark of traffic you are talking about.

Yeah, it's pretty much niche-specific from what I've seen. I've made some checks for one specific niche where I knew the rough stats for quite a few sites and correlated that to alexa's data. That made it possible to predict stats for that niche (and country), but not necessarily for other niches or countries.
