hello
im planning to launch a few websites which might use ajax, perl, php etc.

i am looking to hire 1 programmer who can handle this job himself.
can someone tell me what requirements should i ask for?

can one coder do this job by himself or must there be a team of coders?

any advice?

For a better programmer, you'd pay good money for someone who can do front and backend stuff. We'd pay $80k+ for that in Dallas. Not sure where you're located, but in San Diego, that'd fetch easily $100k+ for a well experienced person. Ask for real world examples. All the certifications in the world will never replace real world experience.

You might divide up the job into front and back end programmers, but that's even more expensive. But at least you mitigate the risk of the 1 guy walking out on you and leaving you hanging.
