This has been puzzling me for sometime, I wonder if anybody might be able to shed some light on it. My site gets (I think) a large amount of traffic, between 50-80,000 page views a day but the comments on the site is about 10 a day. Has anybody else experienced this or have an answer to why user interaction is so low? Thanks for your help

Am I just a one-off freak of the Internet?

If this comments are supposed to be in a 'guestbook' or something similar, then I do understand. Five years ago my site had 10000 pv's a month (not a day) and it generated almost a comment a day, now I have 4 times more pv's and when I'm lucky there is one comment a month ! I think guestbooks are 'ninety's'. On the other hand if your comments are like in blogs, I do not understand...

Nope no registration needed and it's like a normal blog, not a guestbook. Weird eh?

is the comment form served with the blog content or is it on another page?

I remember seeing stats once which state that only a few percent of internet users actually interact with the site as far as feedback goes. Silent majority in other words. I know I get lots of hits but have only a handful of emails from people actually thanking me.
