| SPF - is it effective?

msg:3601453 | 2:03 pm on Mar 15, 2008 (gmt 0) | I recently began to recieve increasing numbers of spam emails with my own domain as from address. I then asked my webhost to implement SPF-records. He did, and nothing deems to have changed. Still several hundred of these emails every week. Is this due to that SPF is not implemented throughout the internet, or is it likely that my webhost has failed in setting this up correctly? I don't worry too much about the mails I receive, but would not like if any of my customers received these - typically viagra related - and thought we were the sender :(

msg:3601866 | 5:28 am on Mar 16, 2008 (gmt 0) | SPF records are not universally recognized, but more and more systems are taking them into account. Sounds like you've been joe jobbed. You can often cut a lot of this out by not accepting wild-card e-mail.
