When finished the UK's national Enum directory will make looking up net phone numbers like finding a website. Initially the directory will target the UK's net telephony networks so calls can cross between them more easily. |
| UK Net Numbering Project Under Way [news.bbc.co.uk] Privacy issues were also raised, which is understandable.

For example how animal rights protestors abused Companies House online in the UK to get research lab directors’ home addresses and then went on to commit crimes against them at their homes. Although transparency is generally a great thing, I think such projects easily create extra abuse risk and probably will result in extra Spam / sales calls! First, give all users options such as ex-directory and other limited listings, then connect everyone up with an easy to use and abuse search facility.
