| How to setup mail and web in different servers?

Greetings, I want to host a web site in a server, and the mail server in another server. What DNS/MX/whatever settings do I need and how do I set it up? I've been looking for an answer but I've only found descriptions on how mail works... Thanks in advance!

you could use the "mail.example.com" subdomain for the mail server. in the dns, add a subdomain entry (mail.example.com) that points to the mail server's IP
