Looking for a visual sitemap generator
trying to have a view on the redirects of my site

 2:05 pm on Dec 4, 2006 (gmt 0)

Hi there, I have inherited a 4000-page site, dynamically driven, with numerous redirects.

I'm looking for a software tool that generates a GRAPHIC sitemap, in order to see at a glance :
- which files point to which files
- which files aren't any longer necessary
- which files redirect to others

I would like to get rid of the numerous redirects.
I've tried Dreamweaver sitemap but it doesn't give a clear picture
Google sitemaps generates a XML file which doesn't answer my questions.

I don't know if my question is precise enough, but I would welcome some help.

Have you tried Xenu's Link Sleuth? It's quite powerful, and free.

I thought xenu only did link checking. Does it create visualizations too?

Not graphic visualizations, but its reports will include a hierarchical list of all the pages on a site. I've used it for site-maps on several sites.
