I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to using videos for SEO, but I've just done my first original video and uploaded it to YouTube.
My question is this: how do you go about putting it onto your site?
I know how to do it, codewise, but im wondering whether its best to just embed the YouTube version, or do my own code. If I embed the YouTube version then that will presumably increase its views on YouTube, which is good for rankings, and make it easier for people to copy and embed it themselves.
But how do i get my own version of the video into the SERPs? if i just embed the YouTube version everywhere then people will just be sent straight to YouTube, instead of my site.
And I'm worrying that i wont get any SEO benefit at all for the original videos i'm making.
How do you go about embedding original videos into your site?

We embed some of our videos directly in to our site which is stored on AWS and then add the same video to YouTube using annotations that ask the YouTube user to visit our website for more videos that are not on YouTube. This gives our videos exposure, and then asks the viewer to come to our site for even more.
