I am really amazed to know about squarespace, i have never worked on it, i have used to wordpress SEO but i think for your normal HTML based sites, video sitemap is essential if and only if you have some very important videos on your site and you want to optimize them in the search engine.
You have to prepare a video sitemap in a XML file and upload to the root folder of the server and then put your video XML sitemap into the GWT (Google webmaster tool)your video files would automatically be indexed and better visibility for search engine.

My question is- do we have to create a seperate sitemap in xml format for video? or can we also use the same website sitemap?
