I have images on another webserver, I want to automatically make a set of them a slideshow video (mpeg, avi, whatever.). Does anyone know of a software package that I can use, possibly command line, to create these automatically? My environment is php, mysql, and linux but I have windows available. Thanks so much in advance! -zuko

I know that ffmpeg allows you to do this. There's a really basic tutorial, although I haven't tested this particular tutorial myself. [edited by: travelin_cat at 2:35 pm (utc) on Nov. 19, 2008]

zuko105, One of my fellow mods (thanks Swa) found this site which me be exactly what you are looking for. Their short videos are free and you can make an unlimited amount of them. Animoto [animoto.com]

Hey justa, and travelin cat, thanks so much for the heads up. I think that the ffmpeg project is exactly what I need (props justa). The Animoto looks like a pretty good setup as well, but not as automated as I want, and it really doesn't let my site distribute the videos like I want to, but still VERY cool product, just not for my current project. Ah webmaster world, what would I do without you.
